emily report

so the camping in the desert came a day early. Better to surprise me I guess. We stayed in tents boy scouts wouldn't even stay in. It really was a glorious experience but I will be very happy never to to do it again! I was so dirty!

My second proposal was from a gorgeous Egyptian. Can't wait to show pictures and we have a few. He was not camera shy. V and I think we should just change our names to visa. Our father is still haggeling for a good price.

Amy - no hamsters yet but we have looked. We have seen goats, camels, and donkeys though.

Today we went to Petra. Our guide asked if we were good walkers. Sure we can walk but this was hiking uphill both ways scaling walls. I am. Very happy to be in the bar with my friend mohammud drinking wine.

There's so much more to this trip! I am a little apprehensive for what is to come.

By the sound of things, your father could become a rich man from this trip! Check your ticket...is it a One-Way!
The dirty tents, long walks, camels....all make the finer moments even sweeter!

Good grief. Maybe you should live over there and find that man of yours!
I take it EM, you never were a Girl Scout. I'm glad you all are having a great time...camels and all.

Camping without any form of running water nearby to bathe in (even if its freezing cold) does indeed not sound fun.

Did you like your camel and did you give it a name? The rest of us are wondering how many more proposals you might get.
